The Picture of Dorian Grey First Publication: 1890 Author: Oscar Wilde Story: The tale of a beautiful and self-absorbed young man, as he gains his wish to never age. It shows how sin can change you on the inside, and how beauty is worthless unless it remains on your conscience. For this roleplay, we will pick up after Dorian has murdered the painter Basil Hallward, and has now hidden his painting (as it is his shame).
Characters: (PM suggestions)
Dorian Grey Play-by: Ben Barnes A beautiful youth who got his wish to never age. Instead, his portrait does. For years, he freely indulges in several vices, which only show on his painting. It is only until he gazes upon the portrait that horror wells up in him. He has killed the painter, and is now hiding in London with the painting locked away and out of sight in his shame.
Lord Henry Wotton Play-by: Colin Firth A Victorian Dandy and best friend to Dorian Grey. Though he has noticed that in the years that they have known each other Dorian has not aged, he thinks nothing of it. He is concerned over the fact that Dorian has disappeared into the city of London with no address to contact him at.
